I want to write a poem.
I try to all the time,
but get upset when I find
the words don't want to rhyme.
I'll do quite well until I hit
a rather funny word;
One that's kind of long
and sounds a bit absurd.
I'll feel compelled to say something
like, "Discombobulate."
It's words like that a poet
just can't help but love to hate.
Big, old words are so much fun
both to spell and say.
I find I like to use them
in conversation everyday,
but in a stanza, verse, or line
they don't work out so well.
They tend to put a humble writer
through poetic Hell.
So, I'll try using little words

Sonnet for a Dandelion.
Little flower, your petals so bright
Shine through even the blackest night
A golden sun in each tiny bloom
Awakens to melt my deepest gloom
And fill my darkest dreams with light
Delicate seedlings, small and fair
Are lost in one gentle puff of air
Tell me your secrets, I want to know
What you see and where you go
As you drift from here to there
Into emerald grass you descend
And find rest at your journey's end
With patience you'll see someday soon
You will once again burst into bloom
And grow to shine yet again

Am I alone in thinking the photos shown during the preview commercials had a real beauty to them? Of course that's not their aim. I'm sure their aim is shock value and blunt disgust. Lovely. But I'll admit my biases as most of you know.
I watched the show. I disagreed with some things and agreed with others. It seemed as though they were trying to make it a reality TV sort of thing in the beginning with the father/son medical backgrounds and whatn
I've been shying away from DA for some time. I think the grey just got to me; it's so dull and depressing. I'm thinking of coming back and posting again. I kinda miss the place.

When I popped on to DA today it surprised me with an alert saying I'd been chosen to receive a week free of DA subscription. Now I get to see all the sweet features I've been missing out on. It makes me want to purchase it for my other account. We'll see, we'll see. I'm sure that's the whole point. *laughs* Before, I didn't know what I was missing.
